Planning Hunters legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Planning Hunter uses account, public planning and managed campaign information.
Information you provide
- Planning Hunter uses account details such as your name, email address, company name and password authentication details to run your account.
- Area coverage, project preferences, saved opportunities, contacted records, notes and follow-up settings are used to provide your opportunity feed.
- If billing is enabled, payment details are handled by the billing provider rather than by Planning Hunter pages.
Public planning information
- Planning Hunter displays public planning information from council planning sources, including application references, addresses, descriptions, statuses, dates, source links and council document links where available.
- Public contact information may be shown when it appears in, or can be reasonably associated with, the public planning record.
- Planning Hunter may retain verified copies of public council planning documents in private storage so signed-in customers can preview or download them. Original council source links remain available for verification.
Sessions, logs and retention
- Planning Hunter uses a session cookie so signed-in users can access their account.
- Operational logs may be kept to keep the service secure and diagnose problems.
- You can ask for support with account access, deletion or export requests using the support route provided by the business before launch.
Managed advertising campaigns
- If you buy a managed campaign, Planning Hunter stores your campaign instructions, advert text, destination page, budget, review history, payment references and performance results so the service can be delivered and audited.
- Planning Hunter shares the selected map coordinates and radius, broad age range, project or home-improvement interests, advert content and destination page with the advertising platform. Applicant names, application contact details, email addresses and telephone numbers are not used to create the advertising audience.
- The advertising platform processes campaign data and delivery information under its own business and privacy terms. Stripe processes the secure one-time payment; Planning Hunter stores provider references and payment status rather than card details.
- Planning Hunter uses contract necessity to administer a campaign you purchase and legitimate interests to operate, secure, audit and measure broad local business advertising. We assess audience breadth before accepting a campaign and do not upload a planning applicant's identity as an advertising identifier.
- Completed paid campaign creative, destination and precise campaign-location content is retained only for the configured audit period and is then minimised automatically. Financial amounts, policy versions and payment or advertising-provider references may be retained for longer where they are needed for tax, disputes, fraud prevention or legal claims.
- You can object to processing based on legitimate interests or ask about access, correction, deletion and restriction using the privacy contact. Some payment, dispute and audit records may need to be retained where legal claims, tax or fraud-prevention duties require it.
Requested contact lookup and objections
- A signed-in customer may request a lookup for a person or organisation named in a public planning application. Planning Hunter uses the name and application location to check publicly visible sources and only saves a contact result when the identity and location can be matched.
- Possible matches show source, confidence and last-checked evidence. Customers are told to follow do-not-contact records and all applicable UK direct-marketing rules, including TPS or CTPS where relevant.
- To object, request access or ask for an enriched contact detail to be removed, contact the support contact shown by Planning Hunter. Verified objections are placed on a suppression list so matching details are not shown again.
Source verification
Details should be checked against the original council planning source before making decisions. Planning Hunters keeps those source links visible and may retain a verified private copy of a public document for secure preview or download by signed-in customers.
